Hey Guys!
So I'm setting up my first tank over 75 gallons and have a few questions. I want to make sure everything is on the right track before buying all of the filtration, heating, lighting, etc.
Its a 120 gallon tank at 60x18x26
Plan on going with a fluval 406 and an aquaclear 110. Somewhat on a budget! I'd go with an fx6, but the custom stand I'm building will have two 20 gallon tanks below the 120 which will only leave about a foot of space. I know the 406 could fit there, but the fx6 definitely couldn't. Would that be enough filtration for an overstocked african cichlid tank, specifically malawi? Or would I need 2 AC 110's?
I'm open to any suggestions filtration wise though!
As for heating I plan on going with two 250w aqueon proheaters.
And Lighting I plan on going with the 60" current satellite LED+... Or possibly two of the 24-36" LED+. Which setup would be better? Or are there better lighting setups in that price range? This tank will not be planted so the lights are pretty much just for viewing purposes.
I'll also be using pool filter sand as a substrate and either lace rock or a dark grey/black rock.
This setup will be in my room, so the more quiet the better!
Will this be an okay setup? Any recommendations or input? This will be my first "big" setup and I'm looking for any help I can get!
