Looks like Im gonna have my hands full.
What if I didnt take 'em out? Parents must eat them atsome point.
So long as I dont put too much food..
Its an insane amount of fry.. im sure it's tiny percentage that survive, but a small percentage of hundreds is still dozens.
hmm.. we''ll see what hap's. he may end up alone. (I dont even have a proper filter on this tank.
So far so good.
I have filtration issues bc I cant use a canister bc they leak occasionally. (I had an eheim Pro Ii leaks twice in its 1st 90 days!) I just used powerheads and bags of media/
Then bc the tank opened up and I got these two guapotes in..I put on a Penguin 350 HOB.. but the sand makes it impossible.
i can avoid the noise, the fish cant. Its gets way too loud,, clean it its whisper quiet, and in 5 minutes its like jackhammer. Si I have to figure this out. (On the 150 Ill just use HOB's with no sand. Sand does make for the best bio-filter,, i think.. If the goal is surface area for colonization, its hard to beat sand. And the history of this tank has sort of borne that out.. bc without with a filter, I never saw a spike in ammonia. (I do wc's 20% twice or 40% wkly) the tank stays cycled./ For Africans it was flawless/ This is a whole other beast though ..
