so, i have this issue tht my fish are getting stress when and after i do my weekly water change especially my midas fries and flying barbs. they would like hide after i do my water change and always avoiding me. this will continue throughout the week till i do my water change again. the midas in the other hand would come out and feed on my hand when feeding time. but the flying barbs will only eat when im not around. their tank is in the lower part of my double stand. the temperature doesnt change my much, probably only 2dgrees celcius after i do my water change. i dont what is scaring them. any possible ways to overcome this? need help.

How much are you around the tanks?

turn filters off, match temp more accurately, either buy a carbon tap filter or make a DIY one yourself using a bottle and carbon to reduce chlorine before it hits the tank! Dose prime/safe before filling.

If by the lower part of the stand, you mean the kind only inches from the floor, the skittishness is very normal. In nature most danger to small fish comes from birds, and shadows or disruption from above will signal a flight or flight response (flight the most common). Though your fish may have spent generations in aquaria, the instinct is millions of years in the making.

i use filtered tap water for my water tank. i have a big cylindrical filter tht connects to the pipe. the water is backwashed, means tht all small particles, bacteria as well as the chlorine is removed.

yes. exactly, my flying barbs are really2 sensitive to my hand. i dont know why. my midas are not like this when i first bought them. but their fear will not show when it comes to feeding time. they will just eat by my finger. really frustrating, and it makes me dont wanna do my water change just to get them to feel comfortable, if tht even possible. lol
