How large of a tank can I purchase for $500

I'm looking to purchase a tank for around $500 and was just curious to size to look for. I already have everything I need, I just need the tank, stand, top of some sort and lights. Thanks!

All depends. Do you need filters heaters and lights? No telling what used tanks go for, usually anywhere from .50-2.00 per gallon with bugger tanks usually commanding a premium. I sold a 500g tank for 800, and spent more than that on my 57g

Depends on your area. Like above me said it can be anywhere from 50 cent a gallon to 2 dollars or even more.

I just bought a used 120 gallon tank with stand and glass tops from Craigslist for 500. I was in the same situation where i had most everything for it. I just used my lights from my 75 gallon i was upgrading from. It seems like there is always somebody getting out of the hobby or they're upgrading. Keep an eye out on Craigslist and other local classified ads, a lot of the time you can find some pretty good deals.

Look around on Craigslist you should be able to find something decent sized. I've gotten 125 gal tanks for that and less!!! I picked up a FREE 235 gal tank off craigslist with sump, lights, stand etc







All for FREE!!! dimensions are 72"x44"x20"

Right now I have about 50 pound of rock and a free access to any amount more that I will need, and a canister filter running 1280 or so gph. I think I'm okay for quite a bit of an upgrade,
