But for now Looks like the bigger one is the female. The other smaller one is not in the right state to determine anything. It's stressing to death.
 
They do look different, but males and females can both have stripes depending on their mood. Only males have spots, and neither of these appear to have any (when they should by this size if one was a male). But I agree we need a better image of the smaller one to say for sure.

to me they look like they are both females. The one is more dominant than the other and that's why it looks a little faded. I would go back and pick up the other two and grow them all out with more caves and structures so they have places to hide and their colors will pop. Clay pots, plants and driftwood also work well. Good luck !

I agree, you need more hiding spots and sight breakers. It will calm the fish and prevent them from beating on each other. And it's always better to pick up as many as possible when looking for a pair, six to eight is the amount I normally buy.
