Let me put that quote in context for you. It wasn't the change in enviorment but the pressure and air as the water pumped in. If it makes you feel better by taking text out of context so you can stay on your high horse go ahead.
I will get good pictures in a few days, its been a busy week. One of the eggs died. I think I killed it during a water change. While filling the tank I noticed the new water was hitting the egg while getting pumped into the tank. There was also air bubbles caused by the water dropping in.

You do need to get off your high horse and realize you don't know that much about my system where you can come with a positive conclusion. You just take my hypotheses on why the eggs might of died and turn it into your big discovery on why the eggs died. You seem like one of those people who just google a question someone asks and act like you know what you are talking about.

I love hearing peoples feed back but you giving advice without even asking the questions to find out the information to come up with a conclusion is ignorance. You lost your credibility with me. Maybe you should try supporting your ideas instead of taking snippets of what I said and repeat them. You did not give me one good piece of advice or come up with one idea which I didn't mention in this thread yet.

The cleaning women and power are just some thoughts that ran through my head. Doesn't mean it happened. If I didn't realize there was a power outage how would I know to start a generator?

Very cool let me know if you see any cool mutations. Maybe if you got a hybrid. I am looking to create my own species of sharks.

The shark is doing great and is developing pretty fast. The yolk is about half way gone and the body is the length of the egg.

That is good to hear! It's really cool when it grows more and is literally folded in half inside the egg casing. Has yours developed any of it's coloration yet?

Glad to hear the last one is doing well! I find that the "younger" eggs are the more sensitive they are (which seems counter intuitive since the eggs are still sealed at that point) and don't do well with changing systems. They could have been dead before you even got them from the transport and acclimation. I wouldn't beat yourself up too much, it seems that eggs aren't that durable until at least a month after their laid.

you do realize that hybrids and mutationsdo not make new species right?
Are you and fwdoosh in a competion for you can say the dumbest stuff to derail a thread. These are two of the most common ways new species form. In order for something to be a new species it must change its genetic make up. Which is done by mutations or adding new genes to the gene pool.

What is your experence in the field of biology? Working for fndooshes nature center isnt that impressive.

He actually has a valid point. A hybrid doens't mean a new species. There is a lot more on the technical end of it rather than just having two different speices breed.

Hybrids and mutations are a good start to creating a new species. Most mutations which occur have a negative or neutral effect on the body. If there is a beneficial mutation the chances that organism will survive to reproduce due to other factors. Most hybrids are not fertile. These are all factors which need to be taken into account when thinking about speciation in the wild. If you are doing it in captivity its a whole different thing.

This is just me giving you my thought about creating a new species. Other then breeding fruit flies and fast plants in school for a semester I have zero experience in this. I am also not a lawyer so this may but more likely may not be legal.

You should find two sharks which a closely enough related to reproduce and create fertile offsprings. Start with several different individuals and divide them into 3 different groups. This is too keep some genetic diversity. You could also take a few from each group after a few generations and create a 4th or 5th group. Let them breed. Keep the groups separate and breed the hybrid offspring's. After a few generations if the offsprings are unable to reproduce with the original species you have created a new species. You can then release them in your lagoon and let natural selection take over.

You also have to remember that the world billions of years old. When speaking about evolution 1000's of years is a short amount of time. If I was you I will choose something which reproduces at an early age. If you plan on using that lagoon to create a new species you are rely on a lot of luck and a very long wait. Looking for a mutation is like finding a needle in the ocean.

Now back to the topic.

I will not be giving my egg away, hopefully shark. If it does have any mutations or is a hybrid I will give you him on loan for you breeding project.

Not really its kind of transparent. I can see the eyes and the bones forming in the fin. It reminds me of a flying dinosaur wings. I will try to get some good pictures.

The egg isn't fully sealed. Water exchange still takes place. I would of guessed they would be strong because they get there nutrition from the yolk and not sure when they develop gills but I doubt they had them.
This is an amazing thread. I really do hope you have good luck with that last egg. Please keep updating.
