Not the same fish.. but I once had an Alto Calvus spend an hour out of my tank (he hid in an ornament that I had removed and put outside to dry) long story short, I thought he wouldn't make it. He was the dominant fish in the tank prior to his outdoor adventure, 1 month later he was once again. That was 6 months go and its still his tank. Best of luck.

I think it's over for the little guy, pretty sure one of my dats attacked it. :(. Now it's on its side, not moving much. My dats were actually scared of it when it was healthy. Way to get after it when it's down

Noo it was with a few leopard ctenopenas and a gold datnoid and two bichirs. But they weren't bothering my arowana

You should have keep him by himself after that injury =_= why would you still put him in the same tank with other fish after what happened to him in the picture.....

Recommended that healthy arowana that size should be raised alone, let alone an injured fish. Can you get the other fish out of the tank, be better then moving the arowana and adding more stress.

Oh darn, well, the best thing you could do right now is isolate it for recovery (+1 on Bderick67's tip to move the other fish to lessen stress for aro). Black aros are the most sensitive aros when young, IMO, so you have to be very careful with them, and I mean very very careful. Isolation, some aquarium salt, good water quality and Oxygen will help the aro fully recover :)

Keep us updated. I'm still pulling for the little guy.

i've seen worse recover, but he needs to be alone in a well heated tank, some salt to help prevent infections.
