Property taxes in New Jersey are ridiculous. Partly due to the fact that is how our school systems are funded. In my town, it costs between $12,000-$14,000 per student per year to educate them. And every year my taxes go up. Crazy!I hope you're not in Passaic County. They have the highest property taxes in the US, including Hawaii. My in-laws, in Clifton, own a small duplex on a 3/4 lot. Their taxes are over $15k this year. Mine in AL is less than $500 for a 2800 sq/ft ranch on 3 acres.
I don't know how much I pay but it gets spread out with my monthly mortgage payment so I don't even feel it
my taxes aren't bad, and they keep dropping as the value of my home drops.
woohoo
where they're sticking it to me is in the water bill, it went from $10 a month in 2001 to $60 a month now-a-days.
wha? property taxes can go down???
