Bad thread title I know

With the new 190g tank (72X26wX24t) set for late May, I was tempted by some new arrivals at the LFS

They had just got in a batch of the smallest Ornates I have every seen. Sizes range from inch to 1.5" looking at them I knew had had to get one as a grow out project. After starring at the tank for over 30 mins to find just the right one(yes people were thinking I was odd) I found the perfect specimen. Good fins/finlets and a non tapered body profile. With one Bichir in the bag I saw a second tank filled with little 1"cb Delhezi's, I noticed they had a label for the Delhezi's and a second label that read Palmas. Now not having a Palmas I was intrigued, when I looked closer I soon realized there was no Palmas in the tank. The crocodilian snout sticking out from the driftwood sure got my attention though.

Getting excited about the new tank, planning out the substrate and aqua scaling while I wait for May.

This is the other guy I brought home, about 5 inches long. I already have two like him but.......... Never too many

What was interesting was when I got home he had regurgitated 2 small dels. I wonder if the LFS knew where their missing dels were going

Nice pickup bro. That lap and ornate has a lot of potential. Did the regurgitated dels survive?
Sometimes I stared at a bichir tank at a LFS for 30mins too. I got asked at least 3x by workers "sir can I help you?" It a bit awkward being asked so many times and my reply is I am still thinking about it. Hehe you must be very particular with bichirs like I am.

Great catch. Did they think the lap was a palmas or was it just not labelled?

Hard to say, I pointed it out to the clerk but he gave it to me for the $59 Palmas tag. Once a year this LFS brings in an order from Africa and this was on that shipment so he is WC.

I was hoping there was a Palmas in there

No the two dels were partialy digested the ackward part for me is the tank was on the bottom at ground level so I had to get down on all fours to look at the tank. I am sure the clerk was annoyed with me as he kept netting the wrong one, and I kept say no, not the right one

I suspect I am particular like you
