Looking to add a bass to my collection, suggestions?

Thanks for the posts guys, great info there CichlaRyan. It seems that a lot of you are agreeing with the variation bit of this, which I do too, but my issue is not only the price for a batch of these, but also the fact that where I love there is no market for big fish, and noone with proper size tanks and ability to keep them for me to buy them, and i literally only have room for one bass because I am focused on breeding my rays. So I think it looks like I gotta hope for the best and focus on treating him like gold so he develops nicely. Though if the price is right, a batch is not out of the question. Appreciate the posts guys, keep the suggestions coming.

Where do you get your fish?

I found a reputable exporter in Brazil that everything was as advertised when I received my shipment. I am working with him to try & get as many collections of cichla as he can, but it is a challenge. Logistics as well as government are huge hurdles. At least we are trying! He got me some very nice wild caught Pinima & Kelberi the end of 2013!

Seems like a suitable place to discuss the costs, and exactly how its done here - otherwise do you have a thread so that people can get an idea of the process and price?
