I'm Where I'm At
A campaign to save a pit bull that viciously attacked a four-year-old Arizona boy now has almost 45,000 signatures from supporters around the world who don't want the dog to be put down.
The fate of Mickey, a five-year-old pit bull terrier, was supposed to be decided on March 4, but a restraining order against his euthanasia was extended until a decision can be made about his fate.

Mickey was chained in his own South Phoenix backyard when four-year-old Kevin Vicente reached for a bone lying nearby and was attacked by Mickey. His facial injuries were severe and he faces multiple surgeries and permanent scarring.

I know it's the owner's fault. Also the babysitter's fault for allowing the kid to wonder around a dog that had previously killed a puppy

but regardless and unfortunately for the dog, it needs to be put down

A pitbull killed 3 year old a month ago locally. To report the news fairly a week later a Mastiff killed a 6 year old in the same area

uh oh here we go again. cliff notes of what is to come.

Its the breed they are killers. No no its the owners fault 100% of the time. My pittbull would never hurt anyone (insert sad picture of pit). Well my neighbors cousins friend was killed by a pit. Stupid owners fault. A yorki chihuahua mix in my town killed a navy seal its owners not breed.

In all honestly I feel bad for the kid I just know these threads get crazy.

Stirring the pot. Lol. We've kicked the crap out of this topic already

I find it interesting it wasnt instantly put down though

Speaking of, my pit got attacked by a boxer last week. It left with a nasty wound but I had my pit leashed AMD walking inside the house when it happen

yea but we're only talking about this particular dog

it appears to have a violent past, and I think it needs to be taken care of. unfortunately it took a 4 yr old getting mauled, now disfigured and breathing thru a tube for something to be done

I'm gonna rant.

Given that the dog was chained up I wouldn't be surprised if it abused on some level. I'm sure it never received positive attention from the owners. I'm sure it was kept outside whether it was snowing or 100+ degree weather.
They should give the dog to someone that wants to have it as will take the time to work with it and get rid of the aggression. And not put the dog to sleep because it has been irresponsibly taken care of for so long.
If anyone wants to argue that pits are naturally aggressive and it should be put down then answer this: if your kid sticks his/her hand in your dovii tank and loses a finger, whos fault is it?

I don't think I've ever seen an article this ridiculous tho. The dog should be put down, the money should go towards the kids medical care, and IMO the parents should be investigated and prosecuted.

"The dog doesn't have a voice right now" GTFO!! smh

Although I love the breed and hate these kind of stories that dog Needs to be put down.

As many know I'm a pit owner and spoke on this subject in many threads but in this case I agree with sumo. The dog already had a violent past and the fact it was chained up makes it even more likely to attack. Definitely unfit to have around a family period.
