That would be a dream come true RTc are my favorite fish that I will never own. But unfortunately no. Some say striped rapheal cats are similiar but I don't really see it. They make a short body version of an RTC. Someone on MFK has one but in the 6 months he has had it it has grown rather quickly so I don't know if it will wind up being much shorter.

I think columbian shark cats have a similar body shape (different colors). They also get a good size and need brackish water.

I know a couple, but they still grow big, just not as big. What's your tank size

If you're looking for a "mini-monster" catfish, my person favorite is the gulper. People say you can keep one in a 40br. They're nowhere near as colorful as an RTC, but they are monstrous little things. Check youtube. there are some fun gulper feeding videos.

If your tank is 18 Wilde, you could probaly get a gulper. I was gonna say Apurensis, it has the monsterous catfish head, but it grows 2' plus

columbian shark catfish doesnt have that wide mouth features. they have pointy head.

Ahhh your looking for the big mouth. I was looking more at fin structure and body style. Have you looked at the bumble bee catfish? They stay real small about 4.5"-6" but have the big head and mouth. 40 gallon would be perfect size. 48030a.jpg

I second the Asian bumblebee. I have one in my 30 tall and he is full of personality. He comes out during lights on, surface feeds, and hand feeds at only 2.5"!
