Hey my first post and the start of my monster collection! He was labeled at the store as Spotted, but I am leaning more towards Florida or Tropical. Any help IDing him would be great.2014-03-13 16.48.26.jpg2014-03-11 15.50.18.jpg

look like Florida gar to me. And tropical would cost you over $100 for a small one in Canada.

I bought this gar and I was told it was a alligator gar but im not sure due to being from the great white north never seen them before lol thanks

This is a tricky one, posted a separate thread but I'm tired of waiting. I'm thinking its one of these two things:

1) Cuban and Tropical hybrid
2) Melanistic Cuban or Tropical gar

The pattern is not that helpful for ID as the pattern can vary alot between individuals. In general if you are wondering if you have a florida or a spotted it is almost guaranteed to be a florida. True spoted gars are very rare in the hobby.

Not rare in korea, acually the floridas are more expensive

What do i have here?

I believe they're spotted due to head proportions but I could be wrong, and I'm open to being corrected. Haha I just want to know what they are forsure. They're from Indiana, a state where spotted gar are native to, but other gar are present as well.
