Too much water flow for ATF?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's a few pics right after I put him in the 75 gallon. I also added one more 1500gph powerhead so I have 4000gph of current. He seems to be liking it but can't swim directly at the powerheads without getting blown away lol. I also just got 5 tinfoil barbs to try and get him on pellets.

So I tried to feed him massivore last night and he charged at them and put one in his mouth and then spit it out. But I'm not giving up, I'm just gonna have to starve him and hopefully he doesn't take his hunger out on the tinfoil barbs lol.

Had the issue with my gar after 2 weeks with no feeders he started to take silversides, but I have to hand feed him making it look like its alive, swirling it around in front of him.wouldn't recommend it when your beast gets much bigger though

Here's a few more pics. He is in day 2 of pellet training, he still has not eaten one yet. Sorry about the pics they were taken with my iPad.

Just keep with the pellet training. Mine did the same thing, charging at them but not actually eating them. Lasted for probably 4 to 5 days before he actually swallowed one whole. After he takes one, he should start pounding them fairly quickly from there.

You're lucky. I starved mine for a few days then started dropping the pellets in and the 1st and 2nd day it bit but spit out then it never went after them again. I was forced to go back to tilapia cuz it wouldn't pay any attention to the pellets anymore
