Channa lal cheng and bamboo shrimp

Hi guys,

I am thinking to add some shrimps into my lal cheng tank,
It is a planted tank with 6 channa lal cheng and 5 hillstream loaches,
I am thinking to add some shrimp into the tank, as far as I know the only shrimp might work is
bamboo shirmp because of its size.
Not sure if it will work, feel free to input guys.

Might work if the size difference is large enough, but I think eventually both the shrimp and loaches are going to get eaten.

Are the tank mates subtropical as well?

The hillstreams are safe for about 2 years already,
Hopefully the shrimps can make it,
Hillsstreams are sub as far as i know.
They were doing good and healthy last winter without heater.
