The L200 I'm convinced is hifinned. That thing reaches for days when on full display.
As for the L27 - is it normal for them to be super spooky/shy at the 6-7" range? I caught him eating some zucc. squash and soon as he noticed me he blundered his way back to a hidey hole. Refuses to come out if people are in the room. Same for the L14 actually.

A hemi can do that as well. I have been fooled by a couple that way when I am sorting through potentials. If you can catch him and take a picture with the dorsal fully extended so we can see if connects to the adipose fin. Either way good looking fish.
My 6 L14s are all pretty shy and actually my L200s are incredibly shy. The only pleco that I have that could careless about seeing me are the chubbies.

Plecos are one of the few fish I've never been concerned about introducing something to the tank. Roll of the dice agreed, but ime pretty low risk roll. Fish have been established over 2 weeks now and are doing great. Tank is kept around 86*.
Maybe in a year or two. Plan to upgrade to a 300 or so if we end up moving to Austin and will be needing a new pleco tank then
It's an L27 Xingu. Changes from gold to brown lines depending on his mood. He hates being surprised so if you come up behind him he'll go from his pretty golder colored lines to a muddy brown and go find a dark part of the tank to sulk in. He's becoming more open and feeding at midday with lights on the last few days though.
