Ok so a guy I know is looking to rehome some fish. After sending me the list. One of the he listed as "purple parrot cichlid" so I asked for pics..

So I see a sb fh of some sort. I can get this guy for close to nothing. Just wondering if anyone knows the quality,strain,origin or anything really about this guy other then he's some sort of flowerhorn parrot thing lol

So probly worth taking then? He said he will trade me for a pleco or something. He doesn't care what. I'm guessing its getting too agressive.

Shouldn't it have faded by now? He says its just under 6"..

Yes most will have faded by now at its size and I also agree it will probably fade in time because of its lack of color now. I had a female bp/tex hybrid that I always thought was a fader but after a year old I labelled her a non fader. Well I kept her because I wanted to check her fertility... At 2 years of age she began to fade. Just groom him well and he might blossom for you. Good luck.

Thanks. I never was a fan of short bodies untill i got this guy. Hes hands down more agressive then anything i have owned. But at the same time he has such a personality. I have been going back and forth about tossing a female of some sort in there to see what kind of fry i could come up with.
