I was wondering if my red ear slider and African sideneck could survive outdoors in a properly secure cage/pond between mid May and August? I would like to get my sa/ca cichlid grow out setup in the 75

Are you keeping them both in a 75? :WHOA: how big are they? What are the outdoor temps?

Yeah both in at about 5 inches. Which is why the pond is being built. I plan on having it so I can take apart and put back together indoors for winter. Had them in there 6 months or so together. Before just the res. Well filtered with little decor and lots of water changes. And summer temps probably 75-90+℉

And yes I'm aware of the 10 gallon per inch of turtle. This was just a temporary winter home

In lakewood, and I was gonna build one above ground. Was thinking a 5x3x4. Something deep to deter predators and more water.

As long as it doesn't get below 75 you're probably good. Just make it very large so the turtles have enough room to stay away from eachother, At 75 degrees make sure they have at least two sunny basking spots. Measure the surface temp.

Oh yeah u are right down the road from me you will definitely be fine I would put chicken wire over it to keep the hawks out and dog's.

@crayfishguy
That's just usually the low in mid may which when j was planning on setting it up. Would 5x3x4 be good enough size?
