  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No sorry, I skim read and was referring to your link... I see now it was a similar hybrid, looking forward to the progression!-)

Hope it pulls through for You and Mike!

Never even guessedPim and Doradids could cross.

MFK is a box of surprises, really.

No worries - you got me excited there for a moment. Spent quite a bit of time trying to run down a picture of an adult, but no luck.

I hope so too.

Although its a man made cross - its still pretty amazing. Especially when you consider that the two fish are from different families. Perhaps the lines drawn there need to be re-examined to see how distantly related these fish are.

Cool cat! Hope he recovers for you! I would have bought one if I didn't already have a 24" niger

Did a water change today and re-dosed cupramine and salt. Water temperature up to 84F. First visible sings of rapid breathing today.

Still accepting massivore like a pig though!

Thank you - Im hoping that the large side scales remain visible on this guy as he grows up. You can see them now, so hopefully.

Update -

He has put on some weight, and also the ich has fallen off.

Hopefully it doesnt make much of a return.

I am thinking that it is probably more due to the salt (about 3 tablespoons in 10g) and water temperature (84F) than the cupramine - as living in the city I use prime on my tap water - even though our tapwater here in central Wisconsin has won awards.

Either way - heres a video. You can see he is in better condition and no longer covered in white spots (for the time being)

Here's the link as I obviously cant figure out how to embed videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZ6EBLYM_MM

Glad to hear he shook off the ich. Looking good from the video, alert and hungry! Cant wait to see how you get on with this specimen.

Thanks - Im glad too, hopefully it doesnt come back.

He still has cloudy eyes - going to run the cupramine and salt for two more weeks and then do a week of prazi, hopefully by then he will be looking great.

In addition after he completes QT I will take a measurement on him so we can really accurately measure growth.
