my guess is that you might believe "the league" has to have a "legal"reason to oust him ...nothing could be farther from the truth , watch how it plays out ..EDDIE ,and I , nave seen this circus before , look up MARGE SCHOTT (SP)I think you & I are just misunderstanding each others' points regarding "NBA enforcement".
All I'm saying is: In 2006, the DOJ brought housing discrimination charges against Sterling, and the NBA never disciplined him for Association-contract violations. So far, they're still only using his new violations.
The Association's lack of prior action may not be something they want to bring up now.
I'm only basing this on Sterling & other NBA member statements.
IF it was useful, (I think) they would already be using it.

Lee, do you seriously not realize that litigation is thrown at any situation in the USA (happens every day), rightly or wrongly, and drags everything out to long and painful deaths?I am getting the feeling that many posters are placing to much emphasis on "the legal aspects "of this case... they really don't matter... N.B.A. OWNERSHIP is a club, when you are allowed in this club you forfeit the ability to effectively sue the league over said ownership as long as the league can demonstrate "good faith"..THEY OWN the rights to the franchise...under FEDERAL LAW,I believe, seems BOC is one of the few who grasp this fully, CALIFORNIA state law, which may be pertinent, is also being mis- applied by said posters, this isn't about ownership in the general sense but about FRANCHISE RIGHTS , which the N.B.A has and will always have, in other words ..no matter what anybody on here thinks , N.B.A. owners own their teams at the pleasure of the league(board of directors, which is the other owners)... good luck thinking STERLING HAS a bat's chance in hades...it's a sucker betin other words..it doesn't matter if STERLING is the new pope, "they" can oust him just because they want. "they" don't need ANY reason
both good points , but public figures can't whine about privacy, the public one way or another is responsible for their success , cause that's where the money rich people get comes from...people pay for the goods that make rich guys a profit...I lament that this day and age, there are racists like Sterling; I also lament that more and more, people can not hold a private opinion private.
