Cichlid pellets for best color

I like Sumo red pellets and Omega one Super color pellets both of these foods are of high quality, go online and compare these two foods ingredients to other brands and you will see the difference, Sumo is pricey though.

The fist food is called Grand Sumo red
 
I know hikari is the most used ( I currently use it as well) but was looking at ingredients for omega one and the first two or three are whole fish like salmon and halibut. Same with nls first ingredient ( dont remember the exact) hikari's first ingredients ate fish meal or wheat meal.

Would that make hikari sub par ?

From research I have done, you want salmon listed first. I think I may order some of the Cobalt I mentioned above. It has more nutrients and more of a natural fish/shrimp/veggie than omega, hikari and other brands carried at LFS.

I prefer home made fish food ( a blend of several fish fillet varieties, squid, shrimp etc) to commercial pellets. Cheaper, fresh and you know what goes in for sure.
