Jaime Lannister vs Brienne poll is up

Jaime takes this

unless brienne is able to cut off his sword hand since he's reduced to arya level warrior without it

I'm actually rooting for Podrick to tame that Tang of Tarth

Same! He does have a gift for it as was already demonstrated by Tyrions thanks-for-saving-me present haha

As far as a fight between Jamie and Brianne I'm going with brienne. They fought when he had both hands and she won with relative ease, that and Jamie (before his hand was taken) was way too confident in his ability. He'd underestimate the hell out of her and pay dearly for it.

Another reason I'd go with bri is she has had to work far more for being as good as she is, I'd also imagine she's more dedicated. Jamie treated combat like "oh well I'm gonna win anyway whatevs " and that almost killed him fighting Stark in the beginning

Jamie had been starved and chained up and living in his own filth for months when they fought.....

Jaime's hands were still bound together in that fight as well. In his prime, Jaime. At the moment in the series, Brianne.

A couple of great scenes tonight, very impressive. Not sure how I could like Tyrion any more at this point.

Spoilers for this episode:

Yay!!! Been waiting all season to see Yara and her reavers!!! Sadly, it was way too short a scene. I wanted to see the Ironborn best kick some arse. And really wanted to see Yara turn the Roose bastard into mincemeat. Ah well.

The scene between Prince Oberyn and Varys was really good. Ever notice how a good chunk of the best seens involve Varys talking with various people?

Anyone else get the feeling Tywin knows Tyrion didn't poison the monster boy king, but was going through with it to bring Jaime back into the fold? Maybe because they had talked about it in the season opener, but I knew Jaime would do that and Tywin would accept. You just saw it coming. Now, if Tyrion and Jaime were smart, they would name Jaime his brother's champion. Twyin would have to pick a horrid fighter in Jaime's current condition or risk his heir. That would be bloody brilliant.

Speaking of bloody brilliant, that mini-monologue by Tyrion at the trial at the end ... it was amazing.

+1 on Jaime losing to brienne only because he was still chained, and had been a prisoner for some time. starved, weakened, not exactly well rested, most likely lost quite a few pounds under the circumstances. that fight was in no way, shape or form an indication of how a real fight between the two of them would turn out.

haha, yes, trial by combat for the win. the ending was fantastic. what is up with friggin shae?? what the hell is up with all that? I thought she had some scheme to help him but as it went on I was like, man that ***** mad she got dumped. only too stupid to realize he was only doing it to save her life. disappointed in her. I think you might be right darth p, tyrion will name Jaime as his champion and tywin can't risk his only heir to get killed so he has to pick someone that will lose to Jaime. imagine if cersei somehow gets bronn to fight Jaime. unless shae knew tyrion would demand trial by combat so she did what she did to get tyrion to have bronn be his champion knowing bronn would beat anyone at king's landing

varys and oberyn scene was good. when you have two good characters alone in a scene, the dialogue will always be top notch. what I didn't see coming was varys subtly revealing that he wants the throne. which I had believed he was the only one out of all the people at the top that didn't want the throne and actually wanted what was best for the realm.

anyways, so stanis gets a loan approval from the iron bank, dany's path back across the narrow sea seems to be delayed the more she is involved in taking over where she's currently at, and freakin all of the build up of yara's rescue mission was basically a waste of time,..............

Speaking of bloody brilliant, that mini-monologue by Tyrion at the trial... it was amazing.

It was the most powerful scene of the season....Tywin looked quite comfortable sitting in the throne as he presided over the trial....I'm wondering if Shae's testimony was due to hurt feelings or if she was captured before she set sail and was put up to it?

Or was Varys just testing Oberyn by insinuating that?

Yeah, I was mightily excited for the Yara rescue ... so disappointing.

And yeah, she didn't seem to realize how dangerous it was, so I think it's just hurt feelings. There might be more context in the books, but the show didn't show a lot of depth to her or any reason to think it was anything but simple vengeance.

Yes, but it was crazy easy for her to win, which would insinuate that a real fight between them would be a close contest, and like i said Jamie's overconfidence would probably cost him the win

That episode was awesome, pretty sure cearsi will demand the mountain as her champion. Tyrion then won't name Jamie as his since he knows he would lose. I could see Bron losing to him too, if they even let Bron do it. Tywin would probs pay him off to not participate.

Yaras raid... Was pretty BA on her part and it wasn't meant to be some big fight. In and out, quick raid I wasn't disapointed in it. I loved the kennel fight scene though, Ramsay is so evil haha his little laugh shriek after planting a knife in an ironborn was a great call on the directors part. He rushed half naked into a group of men in full armor, that was awesome.

Varys and Obryn, i don't think he meant to insinuate that he wanted the throne, but would serve a good king the best he could for the good of the realm.

I really want to see Obryn take out the mountain, but idk that would be too good of an ending that I don't think GRRM would give us the pleasure of witnessing
