Those rocks are Chinese river rock. I really like them with my FH. The rocks are darker to bring out color and they look really cool and calming.

Of course not. I got them at Home Depot. A huge bag is like $10. There's varying sizes. Some are 3/4" but most are larger. They range from around 3/4" to 2 1/2". I love them though. It's a great alternative to bare bottom or sand and easy maintenence. My FHs are dirty and the junk falls below the rocks unnoticed until a quick vacuum, unlike bare or sand. Plus it just looks really cool!
