I still have not decided what the final addition to my 125 gallon will be. Filtration aside, what are some options? So far I am interested in a vieja and red devil. I want something that will be active and Not hide all day like my dempsey. Something that will have a good personality.

Unless you want to loose your Oscar avoid red devil and the related species. Vieja or a green terror may fit what you are looking for.

Maybe or they could want to murder each other. When housing the same cichlid species together you never know how they'll react each other. If you do get another Oscar get it roughly the same size as yours

A Chanel cat would be nice also Severums tend to do well with O's
 
How personable are Severums? I dont know why but I am stuck on stupid with the Red Devil. I just find them very interesting.

They are, they can also be highly murderous. Sevs can be personable fish.

smaller cichlid((convict size ) or a catfish are safer picks...
