55gal - SA/CA only in my tank
EBJD is separated with a tank divider
Rest of the tank:

(All Juvies)
0.0.1 tiger Oscar
1.1 Jackdempsey
0.0.1 firemouth
0.0.2 rainbow cichlids

0 ammonia / nitrite
20 nitrate
PH 7.5

Got my Juvie EBJD on Wednesday and tried everything. She still won't eat :/ should I treat for internal parasite?

Even though you have a divider in there. He'll still get stressed out. The past 2 ebjd I've raised so far I always have raised them in a separate tank and waited about 3-4 months before I put them in with any fish they're size. Due to the fact, ebjd can get easily stressed out and stop eating and just die. If you have a separate tank that no one's occupying I would throw him in there. Good luck

Is good advce

Blue Jack is a genetically weak strain of the breed, and a painfully slow grower. Your tank is massively overstocked, regardless of current fish size. Compounding the issue with a divider, and it wont be long until stress from crowding and aggression takes its toll on all the fish

I have raised my EBJD with a group of adult discus from 1 inch. They are at 2.5 to 4 inches now. My largest discus is a Giant Golden Melon at just over 7 inches. Discus might not be the most aggressive fish but the idea that EBJD have to be kept alone is simply not true. If you can find ebjd with solid genetics; they are just as easy to keep as any other fish. My ebjd receive no special treatment whatsoever and they are doing great. But, this is because I know breeders that sale quality fish. SAcichlidgirl22, glad your ebjd is eating, and if the genetics are solid and that is a BIG "if", they are very easy to keep! That is a very nice juvie in your avatar photo btw!

Thank you very much :) she is the one in my avatar I am planning on raising her with a couple of severums to bring her out of her shell a bit :) she seems strong in character I haven't given her any special treatment so far and she is still looking good and colours have increased since I have had her :) fingers crossed!! :)
