Well about any catfish I've seen on Rapps site is generally an awesome one so somebody remind me when he gets a shipment in :).
I'll give you a heads up right after I've scooped up all my first picks. :D

This catfish does look awesome. Shame can't get these in Australia.
Thanks man, sorry you can't scoop one up by you. This is actually the first time I've seen one offered over here and I hate the fact that I'd really like more and I'm not sure when if ever I'll see them available again. It's like that with my Trachycorystes I've only seen them offered maybe 2-3 times since 2007 and always seem to miss out on getting some more.

Lol

Ill have to be sure to watch his site and the forum on here if that's the response I'm getting ;)
Well good luck to you buddy as I'm eyeing the his site hourly and my paypal is all prepared. :D

Awesome cat!!! I've always loved the prehistoric look of them and Granulosus, etc...
Thanks, so do I; there's just something about having an ancient looking fish to grace your tank.

Awesome cat! Loely colour.

Hope you enjoy that monster

Sorry for missing the last couple of responses and taking a bit to respond.

I just picked me up a Granulosus today.... had to do it!!!
Awesome pick up man, if it wasn't for their eventual size and my experience with how fast my last one grew I would love to pick up another Granulosus. In my experience they're the most out going and active of the larger Doradidae, which means they're easier to see and enjoy. Can I ask what size did he come in at?

Awesome cat! Loely colour.

Hope you enjoy that monster
Thanks Miguel, I am lovin' this guy especially the more he settles in. I think I mentioned it to you before but I'm hoping to get a group of these guys so further down the road I can try my hand at breeding them. Since the ones(including mine) Jeff Rapps got in are aquacultured I'm hoping it'll make the likely hood of me breeding them successfully more probable. I already spoke to Jeff about getting more and he said he's gonna try to make it happen for me the next time he gets in an order from Peru.

I definitely agree with you on their color being lovely. It's such a unique color in my opinion the fish that I feel shares a color closest to the Centro are Cetopsis coecutiens from the family Cetopsidae. It's a greyish baby blue. I have to get a better memory card so I can really take HD vids to show off the color better as this memory card I have is only a class 4 and definitely not up to handling the speed or quality for a true HD vid.

nice Cat, looks quite similar to Raphael, but better looking, nice score!
Thanks man, they're in the same family to a degree he is just a better looking Raph. :D

I also wanted to add an interesting observation I've seen with my specimen, he's been quite aggressive protecting his hide. I had always thought that large Doradidae are peaceful I even think I remember reading that many of them are naturally gregarious yet here I have one whose whoopin' on my larger Trachycorystes. Now all be it there's no biting involved but still I was surprised at just how vigorously he defended his hide by head butting and whipping the Trachy's with his tail. Luckily the Trachys are sweet hearts and where only in there during feedings looking for food and they where essentially oblivious to the attack despite being bounced around quite a bit so no one suffered any injuries.
