so freakin retarded

this has to be the stupidest movie I've watched this year

the premise is so retarded, so many plot holes and so many unrealistic things going on. throughout the movie I had so many wtf moments

now that I saw the movie, I agree with this. they don't even have to come together at the end, or maybe just slightly or vaguely tie to eachother

I haven't seen the movie and wasn't planning on as from what I saw in the coming attractions it was trying to hard to express as ecoli73 said a social/political message. I figured that they'd focus so much on making the message "shocking" that they'd concentrate on the violence rather then the story and would trip over themselves doing so. Now the movie that's piqued my interest slightly is The Fifth Estate but I also have misgivings about it as I feel like it'll be done in the same vein as The Social Network and it'll be unnecessarily dramatic because they think the story needs to be overly embellished to draw the audience in.

By the way I'm not trying to derail your thread krichardson and hope I haven't by mentioning the other movies. I was really just venting some of my frustration at movies that had/have in my opinion potentially great premises and wind up being poorly executed.

the idea of a purge is flawed to begin with, but ok, whatever. I can put that aside and go in with an open mind, but the villains in the movie are so lame i started getting irritated by it.

spoiler alert for those who haven't seen it


first of all, the black guy, shows up and through the whole movie i'm waiting for them to give a background on him and they never do. the stupid villains walk around with masks are so forced it's ridiculous. they tried to make them all creepy-like but they just come off looking retarded. especially the main villain, they over did his whole psychotic thing and he doesn't even do anything except stab the dad and then later gets smoked

the stupid twist at the end was cheezy as hell. the ending just left me pissed off kind of. stupidest thing is the mom, dad and kids kept going off by themselves in the house like a bunch of idiots

i kept asking my wife, "are you sure you wanna see this? it's got bad reviews." at the end i was like, told you so,..........
 
It was okay up until the last few minutes and the ridiculous ending...as my young nephew likes to describe such things...the ending was ass.
 
I just saw it, I liked it. Nothing great but it was ok.

My beef is with the house...how big is it? How can you lose your kids and a stray person in it?

Then all those times the guns went off no one else in the house seemed to react but when shots were fired outside the house...people reacted.

This could have been a good movie but they ruined it with the stupid ending and now they have a sequel in the works.
