I had a beastly super soaked back in the day! It had the water tank backpack! The thing was huge. The trigger was a big lever you pulled back on. Wish I had it to to drench my kids lol. These things are expensive now.

They were good to have at parties and cookouts.They are expensive now you say? I wasn't aware they even still made them.
My favorite was a refillable fire extinguisher you could charge with an air compressor. My buddy lived at a 4-way stop so we would hide in the bushes and blast people when they stopped.
When I was a kid a water wienie always ruled over squirt guns, but I don't think the super-soaker was around yet.
A few feet of surgical tubing and half a ball-point pen and you had a pretty effective weapon. We didn't have the fancy stopper, but this is pretty much the same thing:
