I was running a cat 4000 pump but I also used a Laguna max flo 1500 handled it just fine it's a great filter but tanks going and I have no need to keep this awesome filter come and get it John I know you live here in Springfield. On a side note I would have helped you with your move but I was busy trying to get my house on the market
