First attempt at a semi serious dirted planted tank!

Plenty of people sell plants on TpT, plus I have a bunch of plants that I will have trimmings of this summer. Just realized you are in Canada though...there are definitely people there who could point you in the right direction though.

I think water lettuce would do just fine. You could always drop your waterline to the bottom of the top trim.. that way they can close up without pushing themselves under.

If I drop the water level the AC filter gets real loud though. I sleep in the same room as my tanks so I can't be having it any louder than it already is or my gf might kill me :) lol

I do like the look of the parva! I've asked my local fishkeeping community to see if anyone can offer any trimmings of any foreground plant. If no one replies I might look into ordering something.
