I've been meaning to watch Raid2

but I haven't seen the first one. do I need to see the first one before part 2?

do the stories not tie into each other. if it's one thing I hate doing is watching a sequel without knowing some background
 
Sumo, I know you actually pay attention to the plot, so considering Raid 2 picks right up right after the first, and the first Raid is fairly easy to find I guess Id say see them in order. Lol, off the top of my head I can't say if it's imperative but it may be for you. I have to see them back to back to choose my favorite. Definitely recommend them BOTH though!
 
Raid 2 felt like a totally different movie to me,not a sequel.The opening scene was unclear and the first half hour or so I was trying to figure out what the plot or storyline was.

hmm.. Yeah well I did have some idea of what was going on in the Raid 2 via the kungfu forum, I also recall plot holes in the reviews, it could get confusing.
 
BUT....I'm kind of used to confusing plot lines in martial arts films so I definitely don't hold that against Raid 2.
