Help!!!!!Snail in planted tank...popping up everywhere

How much food are you feeding your fish? Usually snail populations explode, because of extra food lying around hidden. Some loaches would definitely help.. although you still have to control, or reduce the amount of food you give so their population doesn't go crazy. Assassins would work, but then you would have to begin caring for them too, otherwise they will cannibalize each other or starve to death..

as long as their is food in the tank they shouldnt kill each other or starve. they will eat different pellets if there isnt live snails to munch on.

Hey mgamer, it's been a long time, Bob lol.. How have you been? I've moved on from AC.. I just felt soooo crappy for the stupid RAOK's I did there in the past. If you look at my feedback on AC, you'll know what I mean and how I feel.. My feedback is absolutely RUINED.. nothing I can do about it.. If I wasn't so scammy with raoks back then, I would probably still be there contributing there... Messed up and I'm ashamed of myself. Honestly, the feedback is what literally made me flee lol... I know, "big deal, get over it", but IT IS a big deal to me personally. Now I'm 100% EVERYWHERE, and not doing those kind of raoks ever again. I'm still not over my bad feedback there. UGH it's just horrible and I wish I didn't do those raok.. ANYWAYS enough of that, yeah, you're right ;) as long as there is food around for the assassin snails, no problem.. I think I've had mine kill each other though through neglect in the past, ehhh maybe they were just mating lol.
 
Clown loaches get rather large. Be sure you have enough room for them. Or try and find smaller less boisterous sp. Like angelicus botia. Yo-yos zebras too

I did one baby CL and he has taken out the visible snail population in about 3 weeks. First ID the snail, 2nd keep an eye out for white mucousy spit balls with eggs, I would syphon them out from the tank and I would do a Tank Water scrub down in my filter every couple weeks (no media, just the rena chambers and canister), there was tons of baby snails there.
I'm guessing the snails arrived on new plants, might be hard to eliminate them 100% now since they have likely started to burry themselves into your substrate etc... You can try a q-tank for new plants. Dip them upon arrival or add a clean up crew. I thought of the lettuce traps but its such an eye sore. As stated, Loaches, puffers or ass. snails will get'er done.
