I want a Dorado, one of the golden ones. Can they be kept with stingrays and a paddlefish? Also, how aggressive are they?

Also, what is their availability in the U.S.? Are they rare or common?

You csn find them, but not very cheap. Also they are agressive fast fish and need a very big tank with very high flow. A few members on here have reported them tearing any fish apart that got in there swim path, and they never seem to stop swimming. Stingrays could work as they are bottomdwellers and dorados are mid to top. These are not a fish to be taken lightly, think of them silmilarly to gatf, but much more active.

Dorados are hit or miss fish, some people have luck putting them in a well tthought out com setup, others get to watch a dorado tear every fish, even the big one you thought would be safe, apart. If you have space do it, may work out, may not, but whats life without risks.

Depends on species......

My Frankie is a significantly bigger A-hole then my Brasiliencis. The 2 brassys seem fine together and with all the tank mates I've tried them with.

I have the space, if they're like GATF then they'll it'll be fine with stingrays. They're generally slow growers right?

I wouldn't call them slow growers..... Most seem to hit or get close to a foot the first year or so. Seem to slow a bit after that though....

Not sure I've ever read experiences where they weren't OK with rays though. However, I'm not sure I'd keep them with small rays, freshly imported, or preggo rays though.

Thanks everyone, I wanted to get a Dorado with a small pair of rays but I don't want to risk the rays getting injured.

Mine were terrors on everything that they got a glimpse of. One of the nastiest fish out there. Shipped it to Washington state to a restaurant display tank 8 years ago.
