From what I am seeing here I think its fair to say a mix of P14 and P12 gives the better result.

The spots on your ray are simply outstanding Giles!! This is arguably the most exciting mix of black blood we have all seen in a very long while,those spots are so neat and tidy.

Keep us all posted with any changes.

I see what your saying... But it also depends on the quality of each Ray being crossed..

Granted Ade.

I have yet to see a P13 x P14 with "even" round spotting like the one on this thread, in most cases the spots break up in the middle and are often an off white.

Thanks Richard,i know i own the ray but i have to agree,ive seen alot of p14x13 (high grade) in the flesh and haven't liked one as much as this female..you know i like p13xp14 but wouldnt even think about swapping one for this lady! p14 x p12 for me all the way!

I think you have a super pair of blackies... And the hen lei blood mixed in can and often produces mouth watering black hybrids that go for ridiculous money in some countries..
You've had plenty of success in the past and I'm looking forward to seeing this happen with your pair

cheers Ade,i dont know where the big debate came from!..that was not the purpose of my post,i have great love for both the hybrids,and there will be good and bad specimens of them both,as with all rays,i personally think this ray is a very good example of a lesser seen hybrid and just sharing that was the purpose of my post.

This was my p13 x p14 - i really liked her, the spots were less broken like you mentioned Richard but i have to say i do agree, not nearly as nice as p12 mix, i think they just bring a much more fuller spot, although this thread has been the first i've saw, i never even thought the mix possible!!!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the little stunner behind the henlei mix.

Looks like theres some little pearls in there Giles.
