Hi, I know betta are know for being aggressive but would I be able to have one with stuff like livebearer, gourami, BN, Tetras and stuff like that. Also it would be a 30 gallon

Yeah, but their trailing fins get nipped something awful by tetras usually; can try it, it might work. 9/10 times they're best kept alone though.

So if I didn't have barbs would it be ok.

I've got mine in a community tank, was having serious fin nipping problems, but it appears the culprit was a hybrid peacock juvie I was growing out. I have tetras in the tank and there might be a minor bit of fin nipping, but he looks a LOT better than he did and I've never seen any aggression myself.

I hope he's ok now. So one would be ok with like a few 1 inch tetras ,BN ,gourami and livebearer

I never had a problem with Bettas in a community setup. I do prefer the plakat style, so chance of nipped fins are low. Actually had to swap one from a fancy goldfish tank do to nipping and the temperament on the other guy is much calmer. Barbs are fairly nippy but if you have a school I think they'd rather nip/chase each other. Provide some surface plants and he should be fine. Just my experience and 2cents. Nice betta. I think that's a good idea about getting one with less big fins as I was interested in a orange crown tail! But I'm just going to the LFS and find a low fin one i like

Personally, I'm doing and I'm liking having a betta with micro rasbora. Look into small barbs and rasbora and even perhaps cories, just peaceful little things. You can do a betta in a 30 with other fish, its just I think generally bettas are better in tanks no more than 10 gallons, they aren't really designed for big open spaces
