How to go about feeding a 10.5 inch blind indo?

Not much. Still he is only eating a piece or two of shrimp and a pellet or two of massivore each feeding. I drop in massivore and he does his best to search but just when he is about to eat the pellets he gets sidetracked or another fish swims behind rubbing his tail startling him or he just passes over it because he was swimming too fast. Really hard to beef this poor guy up. I feel bad for him everyday.

Hey u have my dat. I am the original owner of the fish. He went blind at around 9". His eyes never got cloudy just turned grey one day and no matter how many water changes it still couldn't reverse the affect. One of the pupils were white and the other completely clear like a crystal ball. I had him in a 150 with a 12" flagtail and fed him massivore only. All the years I've had him he was never much into love food. He does go for frozen shrimp but I feel like it's not as nutritious as massivore. When I dropped off the fish to the guy u traded it from, he wanted to just dump all the dats into his tank without acclimating. Not a good practice but at that point, my part of the deal was done but in the end he did do a little water acclimation.

Thank god! Are you for sure 100% the original owner? If so thank god I have questions. I have him in my 180gallon with ntt datnoids and a ngt datnoid so he does have dat buddies lol and was wondering how did he eat the massivore? Upon dropping it in or??? And both of his eyes are pure white he is now completely blind for a fact. That's the way he was when I got him. I measured him at 10.5 inches he was inside the tank up against the front panel and I held the ruler up to the glass it's as accurate as I could get without taking him out and stressing him lots. How long ago was he 9 inch? Was he a fast grower? Was he normally shy before he was blind or was he more dominant? He has the drive to eat and even nips at my NTTS when they swim too close it just seems it's very difficult for him to find the massivore. when I drop it in he maybe gets one or two pellets that hits his nose other than that even if his nose hits the massivore along the Sandy bottom he just dosent end up eating it. He was Acclimated well once home and during transportation(a one hour trip)he was in a very heavily airated 40 gallon dark colored bin. He is always 100% stable and always active. The main issue I have is feeding. Other than him being a little skinny he seems 100% healthy since I've had him. I'm trying my best here and doing as much research and forum searching as i possibly can but I've never had a halfway blind dat let alone a completely fully blind one who has trouble eating the massivore.

I used to have him in a 200 with a 20" aro, 14" dat, and 3 7" dats, and a 12" flagtail. Then he started getting the eye problem and maybe a year later I moved him into the 150. I would normally drop like 10-15 pieces of massivore on top of him and he would smell them and pretty much inhale the ones that are in front. Once on the floor he'll sniff around and suck in as many pellets that are there. I can't say he's a fast grower because they slow down their growth around 9-10".. For stability, he's always been stable even before he went blind. When he was blind, he nipped at my 12" flagtail so he does sense other fish around him. Not aggressive but will nip if others get too close or trying to snatch food in front of him

Gd to hear he's eating something, but I still think he needs his own tank so he doesn't have to compete for food

Cool I will try to drop a decent amount of massivore in the tank today. I usually drop in only a few pellets at a time but I will try this tactic. And as for his own tank I really don't have another tank suitable for him. I have a 145 gallon tank that's used for some umbee grow outs and tinfoil barbs. They will beat him up for sure. Or I have several 60 gallons which obviously are too small. I can try to cut my stock in my 180 but that's my only options.
