I had a tiger Muskie a few years ago.That was an awesome fish and I've wanted something similar ever since.These guys seem to fit the bill since their max size does not get out of control.It will be interesting to see if they can be trained off of live foods..What temperature are you running in their tank?

I want a tiger musky for my future pond plan...but that would put a crimp in pond-mates.
Mine will take dead and prepped food if they are super hungry. You have to jig their food though if you aren't going to feed live. They WON'T take anything off the bottom/not moving. I feed qt'd live and prepped tilapia if I run out of feeders that aren't qt'd/prazi pro'ed. Mine ate all the ghost shrimp in their tank too so they aren't afraid of eating inverts either.
Tanks running room temp, between 65-70 generally. I stick to fish that can deal with colder water and no heaters lol.
I can't say I blame you,I notice a jump in my electric bill when I turn on the heaters this time of year.
I wouldn't call a 3' tiger musky a manageable size unless you have something like a 12'x6' tank
