I just woul tell about Japanese situation.
There is not any guy which would pay big money for the such Cichla here.
In fact, there were many F1 Xingu (melaniae) never sold out in Japan market.
As the result, some of stupid venders started selling them as wild fish.
I have seen US vender sold them as Wild ,too.

Brazillian exporters never sold and shipped for latest 5 years.

when I sent the first Wild Xingu to US friends, I think it was about 80$ or so.
Azul was bit lower price at that time. Old member of other site may remember exactly.
only Xingu Aimara was crazy price, it was $1500. However, after that Xingu aimara(real one) became $3000-4000here.

my first baby Intermedia was only $15-20 here when I got them years ago.

BTW, where is intermedia?? LOL

Biggest one is actually Pinima. This is one of the most beautiful Pinima from Rio Capim (original described lactation)
So, canamonster is correct.

In fact, this adult Pinima is more colorful than intermedia.

At this time, I did receive one intermedia from Jeff, but this fish is not so colorful yet .
so I posted some old photos.

Oliver messaged me this morning and this is what he said; lots of intermedia coming, seems they will break the prices this year already, I said I'll believe it when I see it and he just sent me this; you may not, the Chinese like the fish, so likely nearly all will go Asia, but as of this week it is no longer a rare fish. Who does he think he's kidding? Seriously he needs to stop Bs everyone!

Oliver told me he's going to receive some box of Intermedia 24cm size a week ago, so I think he may get them this weekend if everything go well.
however, I think those price will not drop so quickly.
