I agree, i cant believe people would do those things to innocent dogs

I think fish would definitely be among the most abused animal based on how common a pet they are, and how little research people do...

Just yesterday when at first street i saw a couple buying a clown fish for a bowl, yes a bowl!!!

Not to mention all the other large fish like paroon sharks etc that people pick up and obviously have no idea how to keep, even baby arapimas are being sold again which made me quite sad to see since i thought stores stopped bringing them in...

I mean when you consider how many fish fatalaties there are > dogs and cats at the expense of lack of research, i think the numbers for fish would be much, much higher

^ ouch... That takes the cake...

I would imagine that feeder rats/mice are pretty comparable to fish if you consider living conditions inside pet shops. A lot of shops hide them for a reason I'd imagine.

Yes...but no on the feeder mice since they are basically bred to be killed. The shop that I worked in years ago also kept them in the back. They weren't in the best of conditions but they were kept dry and warm and fed a few times a week.

Its hard to compare the two. Yes a lot of fish die from neglect but a lot of dog get some pretty serious physical abuse.
