Sexing synspillum

Is there any easy ways to sex this fish... The woman I purchased it from said it's a female..it's over 8 inches (probably closer to 10 inches) and it's tube/vent looks to be 4mm thick and round.. Like the bottom of a straw.
It has been housed with male flowerhorns ( all fish are divided) yet not once has she layed or her tube completely dropped... I will try to upload pics but my phonebwont let me upload them in the app...

I don't know about the eye color hypothesis - but you clearly have a female based on the spawning tube.

Males are typically bulkier, more colorful and have light blue eyes. Here was my male when he was around the 8-10" mark.

The blue eye trait of mature male is reported by Lee. Female has yellow eye. This makes sexing Synspillum easy. Not sure if other Vieja species share the same trait.

Really? I've never heard of the eye color sexing trait. I'll have to look more closely at my syn once i get home lol. Looking at his pics on my phone tthey look blue but then there's a pic where it looks like blue with a tinge of yellow. He's in my avatar. What do you guys think?
