Ocellaris brokopondo looks the same as your fish...

The Gold spot ones have Red Peck and Caudal fins, I dont see that on those other Orinos? They look very nice I have a chance to get some also but have no room Which I might have to change ande make some room as I heard these gold spot orinos get a real nice gold base color!!

Rio Negro Orino have reds on their tail and anal fin

yes, they look a bit like juvenile brokopondo, but they're not.,

they are exported as "orino" spotted Venezuela, but I think they're not quite Orinocensis either, they don't have very clean eye spots. They're more like an in between fish to me, with nice spangling spots on the body. Cool fish nonetheless, I'm growing one out too

Awesome to hear you are growing one out! Any updated pics? My dude is still really small and not taking to pellets!

I heard they loose the speckle and get a yellowish body?

Everyone keeps saying that but no one has an adult one in captivity that I know of. I don't think they are going to loose the spanglings. I've seen adult pictures in the wild and they all still had their spots. We shall see with time I guess

I put money on it they loose their spots. The spots are pre adult markings on most cichla. And on orino's the spots all move to the outter part of the occelets.
