Hey guys. I guess I'm going to give talapia a shot tomorrow. What kind of talapia should I buy? Fresh/frozen from the meat department was my guess. Does it really matter? Should I expect them to take to it, or is there a 'talapia training' period I will be putting them through?

Hopefully they'll enjoy it, I'm in the process of popcorn training my cats and they're proving to be particularly resistant. I might switch back to cat food if they don't cave soon. Popcorn is great, I don't get it.
Thanks, III

Lol I get market tilapia from the meat department(seafood section). I get like around 4-5lbs. it doesnt matter really. I have polys that go nuts for it. and some that dont. if there hungry.there gonna eat. Just put smaller portions in just to see. When i feed tilapia. I dump prob 1-2lbs in the tank. I usually dont feed it every day. but you wanna bulk em up. do it. Also smelt is really good aswell. I get market fresh to. I just rinse them off. somtimes gut em cause i hate the mess. dump them in whole. fun to watch(also do that with fillets. I just cut them were there long). Them deathrolls LOL

Walmart usually has cheap prices. My fish eat tilapia and I don't eat much of it then i wonder....the eat better than I do! Seems like it at times. Lol.

Tilapia fillet to be specific.

haha I spend more time prepping my fish's meals than I do my own.

Do you feed them pellets as well? I have market shrimp, Krill, and Bloodworms but they're all on pellets. How often should I feed them the seafood?

Mine have been on massivore/freeze dried krill with added vita-chem and garlic since day one. Blood worms were in the rotation when they were smaller. It seems like a good diet, but as often as talapia is mentioned... must be something there.
