the hardest thing about fish keeping

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
bordom, i get bord with stock quickly so end up changing my tanks around alot wiether it be aquascape or stock, i cant decide what i want to keep long term im finally getting my stock how i want it now.... how long will that last though lol... its not fair on the fish and same as above if its rare i buy it then worry about whether i actually wanted/needed it or if i had space for it. so on a whole i guess its my own irresponsibility that bugs me, its too easy to make visiting the lfs's religiously your hobbie, or sitting on here instead of enjoying your actually tank!

I'd have to say find appropriate stock for a tank. Stock that will do fine together and share the same parameters.

Besides that, it's not having a 1000+ gallon tank. Can never have enough gallons.

Don't change water. Just drip.

Hardest thing for me is patience, but specifically, it's finding good fish coupled with patience. There's no place to buy good quality 6-12 inch specimens, so I have to by 2 inch and grow them out. Well, I don't know how that 2 inch Fenestratus/Zonatus/whatever is going to look at 6-12 inches, and it takes a year to get a 2 inch fish to that point.

I'd like to get some Black Belt's right now, but nobody local has 'em, online vendors don't want to stop what they're doing to take a pic/video of the fish they have, and I don't want to grow out 5 of them to find out that they're just plain old washed out BB's. Then I'd need another tank to grow out another 2-3 species, because I'm "growing out" Bocourti and Zonatus right now. What--I gotta have 2-3 grow out tanks to finish stocking a large display tank? Yeah, it takes patience to have CA/SA cichlids.
