New Hoplias Aimara

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just reach down and pick that net up outta the tank! It's not really gonna bite you. They only do bluff charges. Even if it did bite you, they don't have any teeth. Ha!!! Lol!!!
They don't have any teeth? then why its name "wolf fish"? :D
There is a youtube video that wolf vs Jag fight...clearly it does have teeth cause its inflicted major damage to a Jag with 1 bite.....

I was joking about the Aimara Wolffish not having teeth, or attempting to bite when a hand reached into the water to retrieve the net on the bottom. I'm gonna go ahead and bet that the fish in the video has teeth about 3/16" to 1/4" long already and that it's going to use them to try and bite whoever or whatever goes into that aquarium to retrieve the fish net. 100% positive. Sorry for the confusion. Good luck. Mine is pretty aggressive also, but I try not to taunt it for the Wolffish's safety. They hit whatever it is they are after so hard ,that I don't want to chance ANY type of injury with my fish. I like my specimens to be as 100% perfect as I can get and don't want to do anything that might cause that 100% number to be any lower. Once again, I apologize for my comment and sorry to confuse anyone. Thanks.

Ok. Right on brother. I just don't want to spread any wrong information, even if I was just joking. Fish bites off your finger and it's my fault, then that means I have to come and pick your nose for you!!! See, causes me problems too!!! Ha!

Question, what's with the white gills on YouTube videos I see? Is this normal or a sign of bad care?

I can't see what you're referring to. I see a white spot on the front of the lower jaw ,where it's bashed its face by running into the side of the tank. I've looked at the video a bunch of times, but I can't see what you're referring to on the gills. Help me see it too!!! Thanks

you can't grab that net with a stick, use your hand please... :grinyes:

:grinno:
