New L200 Green Phanton pleco

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I gotta take some pics of my new Green Phantom and Blue Panaque. They're both about 1 1/2 inches big, and I got them both almost 6 weeks ago (after losing the ones I had before this set to my roomie overfeeding my babies).

Did you punch him?! It's funny you should say about the blue panaque, I looked at a 5 inch one at my lfs yesterday. It's a beautiful fish but very expensive :(

I was tempted to throttle him!

The thing that really made me madder was this... I was away at work for 3 days. I left him instructions to feed the fish on 2 of those days. When I was driving home (on day 4), he called me at 7:30 AM (while I was still on the road), to inform me that the tank looked kinda funky. He was asking me if my filter was running (because he couldn't hear it), and he said the water looked "kinda cloudy." He also said that the fish were swimming about listlessly. I told him that I wouldn't be home for another 2 hours, and that I would check everything when I got home.

It's just a good thing he had left for work already, or I might have killed him. I wrote all about it, and what I had to do in another topic thread.

I was able to replace the Green Phantom and the Blue Panaque (with smaller ones... $50 and $40 respectively). They're doing fine, and it's been 4 weeks now since the incident.

I'm about to acquire a new L46 Zebra Pleco this week. I am so looking forward to that so that I can feel complete again. As for my Roomie feeding my fish when I'm away, I now leave him pre-measured containers with their food. Not only that, but he NEVER even offered to put up some money to help replace my babies.

Nice pics. I have had my green phantom for 6 months and never saw him. Had no idea what he was eating but this past month he has come into his own always out and about.

Just got a gold nugget cute little guy

Nice! He looks great on the dark sand. I'm friendly with the owner of my lfs and I've asked him to find me a gold nugget and a L191 royal. I'm not sure there's a pleco I don't like!

The colour of the substrate makes a big difference to the appearance of the fish doesn't it?! Yours looks like a racing green and mine looks more lime green. I want another one but they're very rare here. I saw a small 3 inch one at a shop but they wanted £80 for it!

I was actually thinking about changing from black to a darker brown natural color but was worried that it would make my fish look washed out. Hat amazed me about this fish is how long it took him to adjust... took around 5 months for him to eat out in the open and be social.
