Hello all. My crenicichla cincta has some blotchy pale marks on his body. At first I thought they were abrasions from their digging into the gravel and rubbing on the wood. Water parameters are fine and I treated the tank for Gill flukes since they were rubbing. All water parameters are fine and the other fish in the tank are fine.

I treated with melafix and have pimafix on order. I thought it could of been costiasis.

Please take a look at the fish. Pics aren't the best But it should give you an idea. it's the larger pike cichlid. The skin looks almost like psoriasis on a human.

Had something like that once on a 9 inch Johanna about 4 years ago. Bought it and in a week noticed wierd growth on it.Tried every trick and med I knew but couldn't rid it. The fish lived for a month. Read something on oocities about what importers called the "pike scrouge" and it was apparently incurable. Idk how to rid mine of it but good luck man I used Melafix, pimafix, copper, salt, prazipro and temp to 86 F. I hope he comes back to health I'd hate to see you lose such a nice fish :///

What was the growth like? Was it more than a discoloration? Mine have no growth and the behavior seems fine. I hope it isn't something incurable.
