Channa Pleurophthalma

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I bought these at 2-3" for $20 each. Nobody ever sells adults, so it's hard to put a price on them. I sold one at 16-17" for $170, but the only other person I've seen selling an adult was $300 for one around the same size.

Bottles,
They (continue to) look great!

As long as you start the comm when the pleuros are young, it works.
Pleuros are in fact among the mellowest channas.
I keep my pack with 3 ctenopomas, 1 agamyxis and 2 ancistrus and it has been working fine.

I would hesitate, however, to add new fish to a tank with a formed pack of juvenile-to-adult pleuros...

Really? Wow. I'd not expect that but I've only read about them, never had a snakehead. How long and what is their compatibility history with each other and with the catfish?

I see pleurophthalma in Arowana666's tanks too with many others. Is this snakehead kind particularly mellow?

That first video is awesome.
They nip at eachother occasionally, but never the cats or dat. The cats have been in there for close to two years before the Channa were added, and it's been over 2 years since then.

Thanks, Joao.
I agree. I added the Dat after the Channa had been in there, but I kept a close eye on them. There was a little pushing with their noses, but no biting. As a rule though, I'd say it's pretty risky to add fish after the Channas have been running the tank.
