I have a 3.5 inch Senegal that I am growing out and was wondering if I could feed frozen krill to him.

It's okay to feed if the fish eats it but it shouldn't be its sole diet.

Look into a good pellet as a staple if you can, such as hikari sinking carnivore or massivore(pretty big pellets though, for larger polys). Can always do a pre soak of fresh food with vitamins

What would you recommend for a pellet? I think a small bag of massivore would last quite a while for him. If the petstore doesn't have it I'll order it online.

If he's 3.5" don't buy him massivore. He won't be able to eat it for a while. Get him some sinking carnivore, same stuff just a smaller pellet. You can also feed cut tilapia fillets, market shrimp, and most frozen fish meat. Mine put on size after I started feeding them frozen fish products.

You can always break the Massivore pellets into smaller pieces or as already suggested use the sinking carnivore which is basically the same thing but made smaller.

Krill and plankton is very messy u will have a whole whole lot of left ever pieces very small ... And a lot of bichirs won't touch it most that I have had don't care for either.... And massivore is fine I fed it to a 1.5" del he tore it up just fine but u will have to break it in small pieces for it tho but massivore will def put the growth/weight on him the fastest

I'm going to go to the lfs and get some massivore or sinking carnivore then I'll stop by the super market and get tilapia.
