I didn't look into it, but I had read people saying the black guy actually joined neer's gym shortly before the incident. so yea, they weren't complete strangers.

This kind of stuff makes the whole thing seem more and more contrived and corny.

the gracies used to get challenged like that, random people showing up unannounced to challenge them in a no holds barred fight, but they would always sign a waiver and the second someone gives up, it's over

to ruff the guy up, pound him for a little bit and humiliate him is fine with me. but when the guy cannot even defend himself, and neer threw those elbows with absolute malice as shown, he just straight let his emotions get the best of him.

and the retarded thing is to post it online. that was stupid. the black guy was telling them to post the whole video too. apparently neer was getting pissed that the black dude was getting the better of him until black dude gassed hard

Imo if you get yourself into the situation you should face the consequences of what you did to yourself. If it is unwarranted then I see an issue.

Aw man Sumo, once he can't defend himself is when it really should get good, picking and choosing shots, talking smack, really being thorough.

that's what i'm saying. when the black dude can't fight back, that's when neer should smack him around and humiliate him. but neer was trying to cave the guy's skull in and do serious damage

krich, I seriously doubt the beef is contrived. you can't use elbows like that and make the head bouncing artificial

in a street fight yea. not in a gym full of supposed professionals. it was a controlled situation regardless of how we spin it, heck, they even put on gloves and mouth guards, and agreed on rounds. the coaches were there to watch over it

I've seen clips of pros going too hard on amateurs, certain guys have a rep for going to hard on noobs and knocking them out. but even those guys stop as soon as the partner drops.

what neer did was straight up assault imo, doesn't matter if they agreed to fight. and once people step in to separate you, that's it, it's over. the kick to the head is just a prick move because he was butthurt that a noob was owning him (allegedly owning him)

I can agree with that, perhaps the guy had some kind of issue with the gym staff and had his membership terminated or something.

Lol, the parting head kick is standard procedure, but I can understand Sumos point, you can't cripple or kill everyone that pushes your buttons.

I see no problem with assaulting your enemy. I'd have kicked him too lmao

You shouldn't hold him to a higher standard just because he fights for a living.
I used to hear talk of trained fighters having to register their hands as deadly weapons;I haven't heard if such a thing is true or not but it kind of reminds me of this situation. What if the guy passed out, slipped into a coma and later died after those elbows and the kick....You can almost bet your bottom dollar that the D.A. would hold Neer to the standard of a professional fighter having his way with a novice or layman.

Nah, that'd be murder wether he fights for a living or designs MMA video games lol

Really I don't see how his profession factors in here. It's just beef. Would I have made sumo eat some elbows then kick him in the face yesterday? Sure would've. No hesitation
