Rare Sighting of a Grouper Eating a Lionfish

Interesting and hopefully the venom from the lion fish doesn't harm any groupers or other predators that might eat them.
 
It's actually not uncommon for groupers to eat lionfish in the ranges they've evolved to do so. The biggest issue with the invasives in the US is that local large predators don't see lionfish as food. The DNR has a program where they're catching and leashing lionfish in areas with large groupers, reef sharks, and morays in the hopes these apex predators acquire a taste for the blooming population of lionfish.
